The Eiffel Tower is Paris's most-visited paid monument — around seven million people go up each year. Timing your visit right saves an enormous amount of queueing and gives you the best photos.
Best time of day
Golden hour, roughly one hour before sunset. You get the daytime view, watch the city turn amber, and see the lights come on. Book a slot 60–90 minutes before sunset for your date.
Best day of the week
Tuesday and Wednesday. Weekends and Mondays (when many museums close) are the busiest by a wide margin.
Best season
Late April to mid-June, and September. You avoid the July–August crowds and the winter fog that occasionally hides the view from the summit.
Always book skip-the-line
Even in low season, walk-up queues run 45 minutes. In summer, expect 90–120. A pre-booked timed entry is the single best decision you can make.
